DIY Homemade Moringa Facial Scrubs & Aftercare Rituals

The Power of Exfoliation

As we all know, our skin has a natural renewal process where it creates dead skin cells on the surface of our skin. Dead skin cells can cause your skin to look dull and lead to clogged pores, which causes skin issues like acne, blackheads and more. Additionally, the buildup of dead skin cells can interfere with the absorption of skincare products, making them less effective. Therefore, it's important to exfoliate regularly to slough off these dead cells and reveal fresher, brighter skin underneath.

Regular exfoliation can improve skin texture, minimize fine lines and wrinkles, unclog pores, and give you a radiant complexion. However, it's important not to over-exfoliate, as it can irritate your skin. Finding the right balance and frequency for your skin type is crucial for healthy, glowing skin.

In this article we will be sharing with you the ultimate 4 DIY facial scrub recipes that you can whip up in your kitchen and are super easy to make!  Combine your chosen scrub into a bowl, mix well and apply to damp skin in circular motions.  Wash off with warm water.

1. Brown Sugar Honey Glow Getter Scrub (for all skin types)

  • 1 1/2 teaspoon of fine brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of honey
  • 1 teaspoon of Moringa Facial Oil
  • 1 teaspoon of any essential oil of your choice for the good scent

2. Fluffy Oatmeal Scrub (for sensitive skin)

  • Half cup of finely ground uncooked rolled oats
  • Almond milk
  • 1 teaspoon of Moringa Facial Oil or honey

3. Coffee Brew Bliss Scrub (for oily skin)

  • 1 cup of finely ground coffee
  • 1 cup of brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoon of Moringa Facial Oil
  • 2 tablespoon of coconut oil

4. Yogurt Oat Glow Scrub (for combination skin)

  • 2 tablespoons of finely ground uncooked rolled oats
  • 1 tablespoon of plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon of Moringa Facial Oil

Caution:

  • Make sure to make your scrub ingredients as fine as possible.
  • Scrub gently on your skin to avoid skin irritation.
  • Best to exfoliate once or twice a week for a good balance for skin.
  • Before applying the scrub on your face, try small test patch on side of your neck or on your elbow for 24-48 hours to see if you have any allergies.

Post-Exfoliation Rituals to keep your skin healthy!

After purging impurities and build-up, prioritizing skin moisture, nourishment and defense is a must for replenishing lost hydration and avoid persistent dryness. Hydrating your skin immediately after the exfoliation is a crucial factor for revitalizing your complexion and promoting a healthier, more vibrant appearance in newer skin. You could use any type of skincare for additional hydration like Moringa Facial Oil to keep locking moisture for your skin and protect skin barrier.

Sunscreen application is non-negotiable, particularly after exfoliation and the following day when skin sensitivity peaks. Opt for SPF 30 or higher, reapplying throughout the day to shield your skin from harmful UV ray exposure.
